The Way of Twoness
—The universe has two faces.
If I believe in nothing else, I believe in duality.
This is the second of my three Way Books.
There may be but one thing subsisting as the ultimate foundation of the world, a principle that is forever hidden from us, but above that level, in the world of appearances, duality rules the day. Stated a bit more succinctly, the origin, or cause, is hidden and uniform; the world we actually see (the appearance) is clearly before us, and the way it appears to us is through the manifold of duality.
We may not know how the One Thing is, but we do know how it appears: with two faces. There is no conceivable appearance that does not have an aspect of twoness attached to it.
The Way of Twoness explores the concept of duality from a unique perspective. It employs numerous circle-within-circle illustrations as visual aids. The book is literally awash with questions. No haranguing or preaching here. Just a lot of stuff to think about. Distilled to its finest essence, it is, like Watching the River Flow, a book of meditations.
You will never view the world the same way again after reading it.
